Oceania Cruises

UpperStrata has been developing solutions for Oceania Cruises since 2003, including their public website, travel agent portal, online booking system, and content management system. In 2008, UpperStrata redeveloped the content management system for the luxury cruise line to switch it from a “live edit” model to a “publish” model. The new system supports user-controlled XSLT templates and XML defined data schemas and templates. The IT infrastructure was converted from MySQL 5.x, VB .NET 2.0, and IIS 6.0 to Microsoft SQL Server 2008, C# .NET 3.5, and IIS 7.0, all running on Microsoft Server 2008.

"Electronic Title Report Delivery Site"

UpperStrata designed and implemented an entire Title Report Archival system for First American. This website allows users to build and distribute electronic versions of their regular title reports, either on CD or through the web. Launched simultaneously with an external ad campaign, this marks the first product of its kind in the Title Insurance industry. The site is built in C# .NET 2.0 on MS SQL Server 2000, Windows Server 2000, and IIS 5.0. UpperStrata also leveraged several Open Source tools to both cut costs and speed up delivery of the site for the Fortune 500® company. These tools include PDF generation, On-line editing controls, and automatic zip functions for packaging archives

UpperStrata worked with the internal IT staff to implement custom modifications to Home Depot’s Contractor portal and ecommerce system, including a new payment gateway and upgraded accounting interface. The project used Linux, Apache, J2E, Websphere, and commercial accounting API.

Microsoft brought in UpperStrata as their development partner to build a Silverlight 2.0 online game for Taco Bell, the nation's leading Mexican-style quick service restaurant chain with nearly 5,600 restaurants in the U.S.. The system supports thousands of kids building rooms and playing games together. It runs off a server farm hosted in Irvine, CA next to the Taco Bell headquarters, and was built with Silverlight 2.0, C# .NET 3.5, Microsoft SQL Server 2008, and IIS 7.0.

This system supports a complex role-based authentication scheme allowing the collaboration of Insurance, Legal, and outside vendor personnel on a claim. "Subdivision tracking web site"

First American engaged UpperStrata to re-write an existing application that allows large land developers to connect to First American on-line, and interact with Autocad drawings, Title reports, and other on-line title documents from the project location. The site is built with VB .NET 2.0, Microsoft SQL Server 2000, IIS 5.0 on Windows Server 2003 web servers. Connectors utilize COM+ and XML.

AcquireX enlisted UpperStrata to help re-implement its on-line eProcurement web site. Based on a heavily customized version of Commerce One’s on-line system, UpperStrata was able to add custom functionality, improve overall system performance, and integrate the system to external vendors. This new design adds scores of features that has allowed AcquireX to become the number #1 eProcurement vendor in their market space. UpperStrata constructed an entirely new supplier order dispatching system built on flexible XML standards that handles the integration and order delivery to scores of different vendors. The site is built in VB / C# .NET 2.0, Microsoft SQL Server 2000,  and IIS 6.0 on Windows Server 2003 web servers. It supports a load balanced environment that has enabled AcquireX to enlarge the platform at very little extra cost.

Talley, a distributor of wireless telecommunications network infrastructure products and testing equipment, uses an aging IBM terminal-based accounting package to run their entire brick and mortar operation. UpperStrata architected and implemented their entire eCommerce solution to leverage the existing packages and hardware. Customer orders flow right into their order processing system and are supported with no additional staff. The site was built with J2E, Tomcat, and MySQL 5.x running on RS6000 servers.

This website allows distributors all over the world work with their clients to order the proper modules of Wonderware software. It is supports an SSL security system with role-based menus, which allow for distributors, end-users, and Wonderware managers to order products, access shipping information from previous orders, and run reports on the system. The website is built with VB .NET 2.0, Microsoft SQL Server 2000, IIS 5.0, and Transaction Server. (internal)
